Every August, Pumpkin Spice Latte fans eagerly await Starbucks’ news on the date its iconic beverage will return to the menu. This year, the announcement came Monday, more than a month ahead of the Aug. 26 release date.
Seattle-based Starbucks is usually very secretive and last-minute about the debut of PSL. Last year, the pumpkin spice lineup launched Aug. 22, but the coffee giant did not “officially” announce it until the day before. That didn’t stop Instagram influencers like Markie Devo from leaking the news much earlier.
But this year, Starbucks may have stolen his thunder with the July reveal. In addition to hot and iced Pumpkin Spice Lattes, now advertised as “made with real pumpkin,” other seasonal comebacks include Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew and Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai.
Pecan is also joining pumpkin spice in Starbucks’ fall flavor portfolio, with the return of the Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte and the introduction of a Pecan Oatmilk Cortado. The coffee cafe added the cortado format earlier this year, using the chain’s Blonde Espresso as a base that’s blended with oatmilk. A nutty pecan flavor enhances this version.
A hot or iced Pecan Crunch Oatmilk Latte returns along with a new Pecan Oatmilk Cortado.
New on the food side for fall are Italian Sausage Egg Bites, a menu item that can double as a breakfast or snack.
Perhaps Starbucks’ earlier 2025 announcement is a response to the #Summerween trend gaining traction on social media. Halloween lovers want to start celebrating now, and along with costumes, parties and candy, they’re craving fall flavors.
On the retail side, Starbucks is obliging, already filling supermarket shelves and e-commerce sites with products. Available now are branded ground coffees, Nespresso capsules and K-cup pods in the pumpkin spice flavor profile; Smoked Butterscotch and a Fall Blend are in the lineup, too. There are also PSL and maple pecan-flavored creamers to add to an unflavored coffee drink.
And Starbucks ready-to-drink beverages are coming to grocery stores, retailers, convenience stores and other outlets in early August. There will be an Iced Espresso Pumpkin Spice Latte in RTD format as well as a chilled Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino and Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew Concentrate.
The seasonal lineup will be available for a limited time, while supplies last.
